Biography

Eric is the co-founder and president of Diabetes Sports Project, a global non-profit organization built to inspire & educate the type 1 Diabetes (T1D) community through sports. He was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 22 and uses his athletic endeavors to empower those facing similar obstacles to accomplish their dreams. After diagnoses with this incurable disease, Eric went on to complete multiple 140.6 Ironman triathlons, 70.3 triathlons, marathons and half marathons, and qualify for the Boston Marathon. He, along with 9 other T1D runners, ran across North America (approx. 3,000 miles) in 15 days. Eric is a JDRF ambassador and supporter as well as a faculty member of the Performance in Exercise and Knowledge (P.E.A.K.) program teaching how to successfully exercise with T1D.
